AFJROTC Courses and Curriculum
ROTC 1
- AEROSPACE SCIENCE -- Students are introduced to the heritage of flight,
the development of airpower, and military aerospace policies.
- LEADERSHIP EDUCATION -- Introduces the JROTC mission and organization,
then teaches customs and courtesies, the history of the United States Flag,
uniform and personal appearance standards, attitude and discipline requirements,
drug and alcohol abuse, first aid, and systems of government. Additionally,
students are introduced to Air Force Drill and Ceremonies by participating
in drill training and activities such as flag raising/lowering ceremonies,
color guard and drill team competitions, and flight formations. Students also
take an active role in volunteering for community agencies and events.
ROTC 2
-
AEROSPACE SCIENCE -- The second year course will examine the environment
in which aircraft and spacecraft operate. Students will learn the principles
of flight and navigation as well as the requirements for human flight.

LEADERSHIP EDUCATION -- Students concentrate on career interests with
effective speaking, writing, and listening techniques. An in-depth look
at the individual with human behavior and motivation become the keys to
further exploration of individual responsibilities, improving group effectiveness,
leadership, and team building concepts. Continued drill and ceremonies
improves student espirit de corps (morale).
ROTC 3
- AEROSPACE SCIENCE -- The third year student studies rocketry, propulsion
systems, and space vehicles.
- LEADERSHIP EDUCATION -- Life Skills are taught to prepare students to
be productive citizens in our ever-changing society. Drill and ceremonies
is an integral part of this course.
ROTC 4
- AEROSPACE SCIENCE -- Fourth year students focus on the application of
leadership skills, aviation ground school, aerospace interest careers, and
world geography.
- LEADERSHIP EDUCATION -- Management principles are explained as well
as providing "hands-on"training skills. Drill and ceremonies highlight
the fourth year student as well, preparing them to meet thechallenges
of the future and life after high school.
