COMMENTS:  Aviation students are part of the Junior ROTC cadet corps and take the same introductory courses as non-aviation students before deciding on which of the options he/she will explore.  JROTC helps you develop leadership skills, learn responsibility, and explore careers available in today's military and civilian world. JROTC is an available elective to any POLYTECH student, however, aviation students must be in the JROTC cadet corps. First year JROTC/Aviation studies include the history of flight, customs and courtesies, leadership and management skills, basic drill and ceremonies, citizenship, first aid,and a wide range of important life skills including stress management.

All students in this dual-action program are exposed to flight-related science courses which examine aerodynamics, weather, physiology, space programs, and numerous advanced leadership exercises. Students "fly" the simulator and visit important aviations centers in our local area.
